Thoughts for the day

I started this post over a month ago and never finished and posted it:

Pondering over some thoughts as I sit here and seethe during the last couple hours of my work week.

– I want out of this fucking department so bad. I don’t know what I’ll do if I don’t get the new job. I have lost almost all of my ambition to want to work hard and do good work in my current role. How in the hell am I going to get myself out of this hole if I don’t get the new job?
– Everyone is all cheery when talking about working from home and the pandemic, how everyone is so supportive. I haven’t experienced any of that. No one has reached out to me just to say hey. 10 months, all business, unless I initiated contact.

Well, I didn’t get that job. Neither opening they had, since I apparently am such a terrible IT person. From their perception, I’m not even any better than the redneck they had in one of the positions who died. A person who, to most people that are familiar with my skillset, know that I outclassed him in every way, shape, and form when it came to IT skills and experience. More on that later. In a nutshell: Behavioral interviews are complete fucking bullshit and should be abolished.
Yes, my work life absolutely sucks beyond belief now. Every day is just one humiliation after the other. Continuous slaps to the face. I’m told that I should be very close to being taken off the phones. That’s nice and all, but I’ll still be nothing more than a support person, enslaved to every person who submits a ticket to IT, and doomed to never be taken seriously at this company as an IT employee.
